96 Camaro 3.8 V6 High Idle
Got a 96 camaro v6 3.8, time I crank it it goes to around 2000 rpm and goes up sometimes. Have to shut off. No matter what I do, I can not get it to idle. I have replaced maf, tps, iac. Has new plugs, spark plug wires, and coil packs, also all injectors have been rebuilt. Not throwing any codes. Please help.

Did you relearn the IAC?
Air is getting in somewhere. You can do the math. you need a certain amount of CFM for the RPMs to raise. At higher idle the IAC should be trying to reduce the RPMs. It would be what it thinks is closed. So if the IAC is working right air is coming in somewhere. Another test you can do is plug the port that supplies the IAC and see if that changes the the RPM. If everything was working right the motor would stall. If nothing changes then the IAC may be working and all the air is coming from other places. A scan tool can show you what the IAC is trying to do.

The PCM will relearn over time with normal driving. You can speed up the process. You need to get the engine warm the turn it off for 30 seconds, then turn the key on for 60 seconds (do not start the motor.) Then off again for 30 seconds and on again for 60 seconds. As long as it does not set a code you are good. The sixty seconds let the IAC move forward and find its zero point.

Can you stall the motor by plug the port to the IAC? This is the port inside the throttle body but before the butter fly. If you crank the idle screw so it is not touching (butter fly closed) and you plug that hole it should stall. If you plug that hole and it stalls there is an issue with the IAC system. If it does not stall then it is getting air from someplace.
