95 Camaro Shifter HELP!!!
1st, I'm a armature with car parts.
I have a 95 Camaro that was vandalized, the shifter was broken up in a failed attempt to get it in N'...but long story short, a shade tree mechanic half put parts on, and now I have to finish it, I need help identifying what is one part is, I have a picture.

That cable goes up to the ignition switch and keeps you from getting the key out unless the car is in park. It also keeps you from shifting the car unless the ignition is on. The black soloniod next to the grey cable is the brake solonoid. This will keep you from shifting out of park unless the brake is depressed. IF you find pushing the button in is really hard to do then look into replacing this part. It was a pain in the *** to shift my friends car out of park till figured out that the solonoid is not releasing like it should. We got one from the local wrecking yard, they let us just have it and the car works fine now.
That cable I dont think can be reparied it looks like you will need to get a new one. Prolly the dealer or wrecker for that part. I dont think the local parts store will be able to get those.
