So I've been working on replacing my car's head gaskets for the last few weeks, and I've done my fare share of figuring out what sensor or thingy is what and goes where, but this one has me beat. Once I got to the point of putting the engine back together. I jacked the exhaust pipes up to line it up with the manifold to reconnect it and then a damnit I have never seen before just flopped out and fell to the ground. It looks like it could have been broken, but there was no crack, crunch, or other breaking noises. No amount of searching has answered my question.
Has anyone ever seen a one of these? Should i be worried lol, or did i find something someone else did to the car before i bought it? It fell out on the drivers side alongside where the trans and engine meet up. Also anyone know the torque sequence for the valve covers? I basicly have semi tightened them in a crisscross pattern on the four kne the sides. Then hit the front and back center ones. Thanks for the help.
Sorry about the odd placement. I didnt know the pic would post to where the cursor was when i stopped fixing my grammer
the silver part on the end of the sensor in the picture I posted should be still on the side of the block, at least that's where it would be on the lt1.
Thank you. I will go track that thing down after work. And no i mean the nuts that attach the valve cover. I can find pictures of the squences for the head, intake, and plunum, but for the valve covers.
you are correct sir! Thank you. I cant beleive i didnt notice that. I must of hit it with the manifold on its way out and didn't hear it break over all the noise between the manifold and that annoying three peice heatshield. Lol
