i have an 89 RS in great condition but i would like more power of course..we all know its a 2.8 V6 thats truthfully not too fast...i would like to swap my v6 out for a v8 but need some insight on the best way to go about doing that. Like what is the best v8 to put in there and how difficult of a swap am i looking at.

 

Your best bet is to trade the car for a v8, otherwise you will need a donor car of the same year with a v8 and transfer everything over, Engine, mounts, wiring harness, rediator, linkages, etc..

 

You don’t have to buy a new car... it depends on what V8 you want if you want one from a stock camaro I would recommend buying a new one too... If you would like to put a crate engine in you car like I am ganna it will not make a different what’s in your car... carb cars don’t need computers... and if you do fuel injected your ganna need a new computer system…. You will need a new trans and rear end…. Witch I will need to and I have a V8 car
