5-6 speed conversion

Default 5-6 speed conversion

will the six speed tranny bolt up to a 3.8 that came with a 5 speed???

is there a way to modify the six speed to fit the v6??


what is the technical name for the six speed

It's the T-56. I've only heard of one sixxer bolting it up. He had a shop do it, and had plenty of power to utilize it. It can be done. It's not a direct bolt-on though.

is it a bellhousing difference or is it a length difference. my T5 is shot and I want a T56 to put in, but didn't they put a T5 behind GM V8's in Silverados? or maybe others?
