Hi Folks,

I am having a nightmare with my Camaro at the minute.

I have lost top gear in my box and 3rd aint smelling nice.

The problem is getting the box rebuilt is over my budget at the minute and then finding a second hand 700 R4 to fit a V6 is turning out to be difficult. I know for most people on this forum it would not be difficult, but I'm in Scotland and ther is not many V6 Camaros in Britian.

Can anybody tell me what other model of cars had the same V6 engine and 700 R4 box, hopefully there are more cars with the same parts this could help my search and save my car.

it doesn't have to be a V6...the 700-R4 was used on V8's and V6's and used by most GM lines. A couple off hand that used it (DONT QUOTE ME ON THOSE THO)...

somebody told me there was a difference in the bellhousing between the two boxes, but was not to sure whetehr to believe it or not.

Can anybody confirm if this is right or rubbish.

I'm not sure but I don't think so...just make sure it has the 700-R4 and not the 200-R4...

I know my buddy had a early 90's S10 w/ 4.3 v6 and he dropped a 350 in there with the original 700-R4 tranny
