For anybody out there with a 3.8 manual...what rpm do you cruise at in 5th? Considering skipping 3.73s and going straight to 4.10s

 

60 mph is around 3500 rpm. Surprisingly im getting the same fuel mileage as before the swap. But that's with mixed driving. You sure notice the get up and go. But if your clutch is weak it'll be gone within a few months. If I could go back I'd get the 3.73s a little better for highway driving.

 

Ok so with a clutch that doesn't slip 60 mph is 2500 rpm.

 

I was going to say... 3500 Good Grief!

 

I know. That clutch was burnt out pretty good. 5000rpm was my acceleration rpm but it took a long time to hit 60. Anyways 80mph is around 3300rpm. The nice thing about 4.10s is that for city driving you can run 5 gear and you'll be doing 1500 rpm for around 30-40mph.

 

^What kind of mileage do you get around town?

 

I get around 350 miles a tank.

 

Now that you say all this, im definitely gona go ahead and get the 4.10s. Have you dumped yours or have you done any time comparisons to the before and after?
