Stroker kit for a 3.4? That must be a heck of a Tax return. The problem with the 3.4 is the heads. They are fine for a bone stock motor but as soon as you start to mod anything they choke the motor. A stroked motor needs more air. Without getting a new set of heads the stroke kit would drop your overall HP. No one makes aftermarket heads for the 3.4.

Rebuilding any super high miles motor is going to be costly. The engine should be bored and the line bore checked. Even the bore that the lifter run in will most likely need bored and sleeved. The cost of just rebuilding a super high miles motor is aways higher then buying a remanufacture or even a new motor. Look up the head swap threads. You would really have to love you car to go that route. You will have about 5K in the swap combind with a complete rebuild another $500 in the clutch if you do all the labor. When your done you will have a 250 HP car that will need a new rear and tranny soon. Or you can go out and buy a LS1 car for 5K do some light mods and have a 325 HP car next week.

You would have a better gain in power from an aluminum head swap than a stroker kit.

Read.
