3.8 supercharger

3.8 supercharger
I have a 2000 with a 3.8, i was wondering if there were any superchargers that would bolt on to the camaro engine. I got a '99 buick GS, but it would take more work and money than I want to put into it right now. Is there a supercharger off another 3.8 that would be easier to put on?

There is no way to take a supercharger from another 3.8 and slap it on your car and go. The only option you really have is a Powerdyne setup. And the whole build will cost you about 3 grand. Sell your car... Buy a V8

yeah theres no way you could put one from grand prix on your 3.8, there would be enough room cause of the fire wall. but there are other opitions. You could turbo (wouldnt suggest) or do a series of bolt ons. just wat ever you do dont sell your 6er for a v8.

It seems like if there is a common theme amongst 3.8 threads, it's don't waste your time with a supercharger. From what I've read it seems like if you don't have a lot of experience with metal fabrication AND you don't have a good place to work on your car (read: lot's of room in garage) AND you don't have a lot of free time, it's just not worth it. Seems like most folks tell you to do all the other, simpler stuff (exhaust, intake/air box, plugs/wires, etc.) take it for what it is.
I've seen a couple of people talk about putting turbos on their 3.8s, but it doesn't really seem like you are really guaranteed to get much out of it without doing a lot of trial and error.
I'm not pretending I've done any of this, but I would at least recommend reading a bunch of the the rest of the threads just to see what you are getting into before you start taking anything apart.

Any reason you are partial to the V6? I have the 3800 too and seems to be a fine motor, but was tempted to get a V8 as well.

ive seen quite a few four bangers leave v8s in the dust why not a 6 cylinder camaro =P but like gorn said without a whole ton of after market support it wont be very cheap.... probably best to go all motor and do internals out still no promise it will smoke the z28

oh duh i almost forgot the coolest set up i have ever seen on a v6 camaro was a twin turbo setup from squire turbo system.... ive considered putting one on my TC because when you look under the hood its not real noticeable
