Default 3.8 Cold air Intake

My project is finishing up and I need a Cold air intake for my 96 3800. Any reason I should not get this one? Any others I should look at?

Those work wonders with a better filter. Filter prolly cost about $40.

I noticed it was held stable with ty-wraps. Only reason those intakes are cheaper is they don't come with a CARB number. Other than that, they perform pretty much the same.

Those are dirt cheap. And they look pertier than a much more expensive black plastic K&N. I'd go for it.

Any way I could make that work with a 2000, or are the ones with just the one curve just as effective?

Personally I would avoid this, because:

1) It's almost certainly made in China, and I like to put American parts in my American car;
2) The filter is almost certainly garbage so you will need a new filter;
3) its held in place with zip-ties, and
4) I personally bought one of these generic intakes for a 1989 CRX and it didn't even come close to fitting - in fact, it was so bad that I couldn't use it at all. The pipe was bent about 1" in the wrong spot.

After shipping and a K&N filter you're looking at around $100, at least - just save up for a name brand and be done with it

^^ No, this won't work on a 2000 because the throttle body on a 95-97 is angled and its straight on 98+ cars. Maybe it would fit with a different elbow?

I have an Identical one. I just purchased a New K&N for it.

It's been on the car for almost two years and I don't have a single complaint.

I believe they make a similar one for your year. Although I've heard the 98+ intakes for quite a bit better than the 93' - 97' V6 factory intakes.

Held on with zip ties? The written description and picture on my end shows metal hose clamps.
But then, I just cleaned my monitor!
