My car is running a little rough at idle and i ordered a new TPS and IAC for the car to try and fix the problem. Got the TPS today. Removed the old one, put the new one on and it revs to 1500 then goes to 2000 and up over around 30 seconds. Put the old TPS on and it goes to 1500 then back to 1000. Guessing my replacement TPS is bad. Any thoughts? IAC is still on its way. Unplugging the current one doesnt do anything, same with the tps.

 

Is there a reason for it to be idling at 2000 rpms with a new iac and tps? Old ones back in it stays at 500 to 1000 rpms when idling.

 

In many cars the IAC and TPS need to be properly adjusted when replaced. I am not sure about your car, but you may want to look at the service manual. I also doubt that these sensors will cause a rough idle.

 

How do you adjust them? I dont have a service manual for 94 i just have 1 big fat service manual book for a 91.
