Default 2.8 wont rev past 2500 rpms??

i have a 1986 camaro efi automatic 2.8 liter v6 and i have replaced the fuel filter, starter, alternator, spark plugs, wires, ground wires, cap and rotor, ignition coil, battery, exhaust, 02 sensor, fuel pump relay, and no matter what i do it wont rev past 2500 when driving and it shifts funky after 2nd, like 2nd into 3rd is random and hard and 3rd into 4th comes waaaayy to soon like almost instantly, and no matter how i play with the pedal or if i have it in drive or 2 or l or overdrive its always the same and wont go over 2500 and it has a hard time makin it there, what else could it be? and also the speedo is crazy after like 50 it randomly keeps climbing and keeps goin around lol and isnt accurate even up to 50 and my oil pressure gauge goes up to like 80 lol and i know its off, and the voltometer jumps when i put the turn signals on, and how much and where can i get raplacement t-tops gaskets and all? ive heard of some people getting v6 up past 120, is this possible? and my friend here has same car and before he killed it he had an aftermarket speedo and had it up to almost 130? i was like ook but whatever any info would be appreciated, as i am new to chevy's and camaro;s but willing to learn i used to be an import guy, but anyways email is djbeefyaz@yahoo.com or reply here or whatever, thanks.

Default RE: 2.8 wont rev past 2500 rpms??

Reading your post, it appears you have done all the usual stuff. The only clue is that the instruments are going crazy, especially the voltmater. This indicates some sort of electrical problem. Get a test volt meter and check the voltage at the battery with the engine running, should be between 13 to 14 Volt. Turn on everything, rev up engine & see if voltage stays in range. If the voltage looks ok, look for missing or loose ground wires. Bad grounds can confuse the computer. Also check that you are running resistance type spark plug wires, as copper wires create high level of RFI which can also drive the computer crazy.
Is the computer setting any codes? Check all sensors especially Engine temp, MAP, & Knock sensor.

If I remember correctly, the tranny in this car is using a TV cable, make sure the cable is adjusted properly, otherwise you will get weird shifts. Short and hard shifts if set too tight, and long soft shifts if set too loose. Check a repair manaul for the proper adjusting procedure.

There is also a possibility that the computer is in trouble, You may want to replace it temporarily with a known good one & see how it goes.

And yes, these cars will go over 120, but it takes them a while to get there
