Angry 1998 V6 heater hose connection - need help

I have a 1998 3.8 L V6 Camaro. The plastic heater hose restrictor blew out spewing the nasty gunky coolant everywhere. I have everything I need to fix this except... now, I need to know... is there is an after market replacement for the OEM "Quick Connect" Heater hose connectors on the engine.

Or.. is there a trick I need to do to make the connections from the hoses back to the block? Can this be tapped and add threaded 5/8" hose nipples?

Any help would be great!

As a general rule you have to buy the hose from GM. There are some FWD cars that that have a different set up. I am not sure if your hoses are long enough. You will most likely need to makeup a whole new hose. I will look for you part number when I get a chance. You can try to search on this site.

Looks like you are going to need to flush your system really good after you get the hoses repaired. While the hoses are off like that, take a garden hose and push water through both those hoses until it runs out clear.

1 gm part# 12570305 adapter
1 gm part# 24504476 adapter

Think this are only available at GM dealer or online.

I have been looking at that connection thinking of grinding down the metal to make it smooth and fining a hose that would fit over it with a clamp then using some type reducer or having a machinist buddy of mine thread the inside of the connection and going that route. There has to be a cheaper fix for such a common problem.

24504476 is for the upper connection and the other one is for the lower

Ok, but WHICH connection in the picture above is the outlet, and which is the inlet?
Left Inlet? Right Outlet? or vice versa?

I believe the bottom one (left) is the inlet (water flowing from heater core back to engine) and the top is the outlet. There are arrows pointing the direction of flow right where the tab is sticking out on the metal piece. hard to see in that photo.

The oring should be all the seal you need. Might wet them before trying to push them in so they will slide into the outlet easier.
