Are you certain your wires are routed correctly? Best to double check that. Also, try a few tanks of a good fuel system cleaner, then you might want to check your fuel injectors, one might be weak/failing, also try a fuel pressure test.

PS: p0302 supposedly means cylinder number two is misfiring.

thanks, I'll get some fuel cleaner later today and see if that helps later on, would it feel fine directly after a plug change the do the same thing if it was fuel or is it rare?

I was getting worried, her 98 feels a lot less powered than my 1991 200k Ranger.

One tank of fuel system cleaner won't be enough if you haven't done it in a long time, try 4-5 tanks, then do it on a quarterly basis...

Bad plugs and wires can make a car run really rough -- do you know a date or mileage of your last plug/wire change?

It's my girlfriends car, it has 80k on it and it was bought from the dealer 2 years ago with 76k on it she's yet to get her license so it isnt driven very often and her dad used it one day to get somthing from the parts store for his camaro and thats the first time the misfire showed up, this was about 2 months ago and he changed the wire and it was fine and the next time it was driven was by me to the prom and it misfired, he changed the wire because it his the fan belt(it was way too long) and it was fine, then he left so i've taken over manageing the car until she drives it daily, and i drove it one day around and it was misfiring on cylinder 2 and i fixed it the next day with an iridium spark plug and it was fine the rest of the day and to and from school then we went to a job interview and it happend agian, but right after the spark plug it was preforming better then it ever has for me and the wheel felt lighter, after the misfire it feels like it did before. and i know for a fact he has never done anything to the car other than put 2 wires on cylinder 2. and the fuel system has never been touched.
