Hey guys. I got a used Camaro recently with 98k on the motor
V6 - Automatic Transmission.

I've noticed that it has a low pressure problem but last night after coming home from work i noticed a knock. the engine knocks at idle, doesn't knock when in drive but knocks right before it shifts gears. I tried to put a little Lucas in the transmission this afternoon but to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas as to what this could be ?

 

You need to get a real oil pressure reading from a hand held gage. Knocking at idle can be a lot of things but low oil pressure and a knock at idle screams rod bearing noise.

 

Whats involved in swapping those bearings ?

 

Its an engine rebuild.
