1996 3.8L is CHUGGING!!! NEED HELP BAD!
Ok i have a 96 maro, 3.8L. And one day hittin the throttle while driving, the car started to sputter. but if i slowly supress the gas pedal, it is fine. I thought it would be spark plugs and spark plug wires. i had those both changed, but it still sputters. It has full power, it's just it chugs and lags like something is holding it back. it sounds like something is in my exhaust or my cat is going bad or sumtin.
Also just to add, my tranny is squeaky and has always been squeaky since my parents gave me this car; any thoughts on how to make it NOT squeaky? BUT my main concern is the lagging in the acceleration when i take off and even when the car idles it sorta sputters and sounds like misifiring. Please help me! i have dumped a good amount of money in this car.
--remember just changed:
-spark plugs/spark plug wires
-air filter
-oil change/filter
So i dont know. =/
BTW i have about 244,500 miles on it!

There is no check engine light on.
I was told if it was my coils that the diag. computer wouldnt of said misfire on one plug, it would have said 2 plugs were misfiring.
they also did a back pressure test and said the cat was fine, so they ruled out my cat. what the shop said was that it may be dirty injectors that might need servicing or my fuel filter needs changing. and to be honest, i havent changed my fuel filter in a while [&o]

You can try & get the injectors cleaned, but I would also check the fuel pressure, unless the shop did it already. But, do change the fuel filter. The other thing with the waste spark ignition, is that the ignition module, directly under the coils, has a habit of breaking down and causing multiple random misfires. Places like Auto Zone will test coils an module for free.
