what would i need to do to put a 150 mph cluster in my 3.4 my buddy has one hes gunna sell me for 20 bucks

 

Why exactly do you want one?

 

If its from a v8 car you will probably need a custom tune. The tacometer and oil psi will be off. I dont know that its possible even with a tune. I've heard of people with v8 cars going from a 120mph cluster to a 150mph cluster. But not v6 cars. I did a 3.8 to lt1 swap in my 96 Camaro and the cluster was one of the things I HAD to change.

 

I asked about this awhile ago as well. I'd like one because the V8 cluster has more aftermarket options and also because my car can go past 120mph.

 

Well if you cant get the swap to work, let me know. I know a few places that will make you a custom overlay with any colors and fonts you want.

 

The overlay will be your only practical option. After that you will need to have your speedo recalibrated (speedometer shops can handle that) and you will be able to have 150 on your guage. Swapping the V8 cluster will take alot of work in the tuning department and may mess with your BCM and cause a bunch of issues. Also your mileage is stored in your cluster and putting another in a car without having the new cluster programed to your car is illegal, and it will show up on a carfax if it shows less mileage than yours did the last time anyone serviced your car.

exactly i was looking on ebay and the overlays are a lot nicer for the 150 and i have the 110 gauge and i buried the crap out out the needle
