Default 02 camaro to Trans Am body swap

Hi.
This is my first time on the forum. Im not sure if this is the right place for this question so, if not, please move this thread to where it belongs.

My wife has an 02 camaro 3.8. She had a 95 trans am that she loved but, it got totaled. We got her the 02 to replace the TA. She likes the interior & the T tops but, she misses the look & sound of the LT1 TA. At the time the 02 camaro was the only car close to her TA in our price range. Now that its paid off, she wants a family car but would like to fix up the camaro for a weekend cruiser. My question is, what all would be involved in swaping camaro body parts for TA ones? I know the front bumper, hood, rear spoiler, & tail lights are diferent. Is this a simple swap of cosmetic parts or is there a little more to it? Thanks for the help.

you need to swap out the front end. so bumper, bumper cover, front fenders, light bracket. you'll also need all the mounting brackets for the front end. shouldn't be to hard to do. you'll run into problems with the air intake location as it won't fit over the rad with the ta front end.

good info thanks. got any info on what is needed for the back? For example, would the spoiler bolt on to the camaro hatch or is a new hatch & quarter panels needed also?

the problem with the back is the fenders are welded in so youd have to cut and reweld to get the firebird rear

its probably cheaper to get another trans am honestly, youll still have to chane out more parts in the driveline, but if you have the money more power to ya

Yup it is a heavily involved job. As far as I know it hasn't been done.

maybe you could find a 3.8 TA with a bad motor and swap yours in then sell the camaro as a roller then you could make some of your money back
