Default what rear ends are you running?

So i bought my first camaro about 4 months ago. 94 z28 all gussied up with a nice top end build. Little did i know the rear ends are a time bomb with more than stock power. long story short my ring and pinion, and spider gear blew to pieces. Where im going with all of this is, what rear ends are in your camaros? I'm looking at a couple different options. Moser 9 inch, but it just so happens to be the most expensive. starting at about 2400. also the strange dana 60 unit. Possibly even a scrapped ford 9 inch with some custom axles and lower control arm mounts and sway bar mounts and all of the gussies. Any info on what worked for you, where you bought it from, general cost and all that is greatly appreciated! Just a 19 year old saving up all on my own so im on a budget, but i want to do it right the first time! thanks again -John

I have a 9 inch in my car, I worked with a local shop to build it for me. They had a jig setup where they cut the axle tubes down, welded on the ends, welded on the brackets from a 10 bolt rear end and I was able to bolt everything up.

I'm going with a custom made 8.8 out of a Explorer. I found a nice write up that has you take the 10 bolt axle tubes and fit and weld them to the 8.8. I think the guy only had 7 or 800 into it when he was done and that was with new everything. The 8.8 isn't quite as strong as the 9in or S60, but it's more than enough to handle most Camaros.

the 8.8 is a really popular swap in the jeep scene, it seems to handle 33"-35" tires banging on rocks just fine

Other option is a 12 bolt, cheaper than a 9 inch.

I have a 8.8 inch in my Ranger with 4.10's and 31 spline axles, damn solid unit that hasnt given any trouble on or off road. Though it does have a leaky pinion seal, but its relatively minor all things considered. You can find the 8.8 in Rangers, Explorers and F150's so they are out there in abundance considering how mass produced those 3 vehicles were

I think 12 bolts came factory in 1st gens, and your car looks like a 68, if your talking about the one in your sig pic

best way to make sure, give spohns a call and ask. i would think they would fit but would be best to get them to say.
