Default so I picked up my Z28 today

she really ran good going home that deep growl is amazing, but looking up the RPO it looks like I got a G80 but a GU2 which is 2.73's, now I don't need to go 300mph down the highway so I'm thinking of 3.42's, it should be just changing the ring and pinion, which my mechanic can do..

will anything need t be recalibrated for speedo, I'm also taking out the 125mph cluster and putting in a 150

with the 2:73's you cant even bark the tires lol

Really? I still have 2.73s in the rear of mine and have no trouble getting the car to launch or break loose and that's in OD. Knock it down to second or even third and there's smoke every where.....then again, might just be the shift kit. Lol.

But I do believe the computer needs re-calibrated for the gear and the cluster change.

You don't mention the year, but by the tail lights it looks to be '97 or newer. If that is the case, it will have ASR, or traction control. It is a real pain. It's the first thing I shut off after I start mine. Bad things happen when you are passing a car and put the pedal down a little too far and the rears break loose when passing gear hits. You are hanging out in the breeze in the oncoming lane with zero power and whiplash. It is nice for putting around town in the rain though...It isn't any good for drag racing either. Mine won't shut off under wide open throttle after the launch.

It does if it comes with 2.73s. Mine has the 120 (or 115, depending on how you look at it). They also don't show first gear on the shift indicator. It just goes Park, Reverse, Neutral, OD, Drive, Second. 3.23 and up had 1st listed on the shift indicator.

Yeah, not the brightest idea by GM. I understand some people want fuel economy, but there can't be that much of a difference between 2.73 and say 3.23.

my car is a 1994 LT1, the tail lights are the new LED's on ebay, so far I like them, but I had an LEO pull me over and tried to write me up for them being too bright, I said fine, show me the century code from the state showing luminance of tail lights there isn't one. I had already asked the DOT and the Highway Patrol, yet his car was lit up like a fricking christmas tree with all the LED's, my brother is in federal law enforcement and my uncle is a federal judge so I have no qualms about making them show proof before writing me. Weird thing tho, there is no 118 shut off on it, I've had it buried well over 120....

guess I should change my sig, that's my V6 99,

here's my new one..

137,000 orig miles, not abused at all, well until I got it ehe..

That is weird. Mine cut off at 128ish (used GPS). Which sucked cause I still had another 1/2 mile to go before the exit. Hahah
