I hope you found a 3.4 Bell house, Mitchell manual lists the 2.8's as not compatible. Not sure why. With the exceptions of leaks or someone installing a monster clutch, everytime I have seen broken clutch linkage it has been to to a problem with the pressure plate. The pressure plate has over heated and caused the spring to get hard instead of spring like. You really want to be sure the clutch is in good working condition before you reassemble your trans. You don't want to be redoing this bell housing in 4 weeks.

I am sure the old bell-housing could be repaired if you have problems finding one. In fact it could be repaired and reinforced better than new. If you don't have these skills not to worry you local machine shop will help you out.

Did you wind up buying Chaotic94's bellhousing? I'd hang on to your old one, or even have it tig welded/gusseted and sell it.
Being made of "unobtainium", a 3.4 bellhousing in any condition is hard to come by.

Wow this must be a common problem, I had no idea. I just check Car-parts.com and there are three listed for sale for the US and one of them says "needs welded at the slave cylinder".

It doesn't strike me as the strongest looking design you could have.

I'll definitely reinforce that new one. The current one actually had broken off before, then I had it re-welded. But this time when it broke off, there really isn't any way to weld it back securely.

Finally got the tranny out. For my first time, I think the hardest part was loosening the tranny-to-bellhousing bolts. But I'm pretty darn proud of myself lol. Bellhousing should arrive tomorrow; I'll get it reinforced as soon as I can and put back in and DRIVING again.
In addition, before the mounting bracket broke off, I guess the clutch master cylinder gave out on me. I would press the pedal all the way to the floor, but the slave pushrod would only move about a half an inch. It just out of nowhere happened one night, and it wouldn't let me engage gears unless the engine was off. Does that sound like a clutch master cylinder problem, remedied by replacing the master cylinder?
