do you have a sixer or V8? If a sixer then as long as they send you the correct tranny it's a fair price. Warranties are nice to have but it's a pain to have to take out the tranny twice instead of only once. Are you ding the work yourself of removing it? If so, check craigslist for local shops who will do bench rebuilds. It's always better to look a person in the eye vs online sales

If you aren't doing the work yourself, and want to purchase the part yourself, don't expect warranty on the labor if the part should fail.

If you expect a shop to warrant their work then you must allow them to source parts themselves

Good point guys glad I didn't order...where do you suggest I buy one from. I no a lot of people will say Craigslist but how can you take a stranger on Craigslist word that it's not a pos tranny?

that's why i said check craigslist and find a shop who does bench rebuilds

if you already have a tranny get it rebuilt

drop the tranny and drive it over and have it rebuilt. You will be able to look the guy in the eye and look around his shop

also, while the tranny is out slap in a new rear main seal in the engine

i have a 95 z28 and when i got the car it wouldnt shift into 2nd gear. i have to bring the rpm up to 3000 and let the throttle go for it to shift to 3rd i thought maybe i was having an oil pressure issue so i dropped the pan and unbolted the valve body took it down and replaced the gaskets seperator plate. took spool valves out of valve body and cleaned the valves out with brake clean put the valve body back together and bolted everything back in put new filter an gasket put new fluid in and the trans is still doing the same thing. i have a few ideas whats wrong with it but it would be nice to hear some feed back on other peoples suggestions
