rear end help
is there a thread on here that lists exactly what i would need to switch from my rear end (3.4 v6 manual with standard open diff, and drums) to a rear with disc brakes?
i know as far as bolting up they are an exact fit, im talking about if the other rear is 4 channel instead of my 3 channel what i need to do to make that work (or can i?), for the disc brakes does the master cylinder, or proportion valve (the mechanic mentioned that i think) need to be changed, im sure all the lines will be fine but is there a different fitting on the disc brakes as compared to the drums?
thanks

do i need the lines because the connection to the brakes is different between drums and discs? or is there some other reason?

Don't change out the rear end just to get disc brakes, just upgrade the brakes! You do have to open the pumpkin & release the axle shafts as I recall. Did the upgrade on my old '95 3.4L.
If you decide you want an LSD, all you need to do is swap carriers, why waste a rear end?!
