About what speed should i be able to take my automatic 02 camaro up to while in drive before shifting to overdrive? Till red line or where will it start to hurt it?

redline, overdrive is an addon that is not ment to be used for heavy tourqe app's like towing.

Driving around town, I keep the trans in drive because in overdrive, it lugs the engine down too much for my liking. Plus, lugging the engine that way can get you worse gas mileage. Generally I don't pop it into overdrive till I'm going around 45 or so. Redlining the engine while driving isn't necessary, puts more wear on the engine, and sucks more gas.

Ya i usually use drive around town. I was just wondering for if i want to get on it a bit how far i can take it up. I wouldnt do that all the time ha. And that is good to know about the gas mileage, i actually thought it would be worse driving around town in drive ha
