Nope, and I have the 4L60E in my Camaro and S10. Neither has a drain plug. The 4L80E in my fullsize doesn't have one either.

But the tranny in my Jeep has a drain plug. Go figure.

I am going to add one to my Camaro and S10 when I change the fluid and filter on them.

Are you talking a drain plug for the TC or the pan itself?

Most Chevy's save older ones don't have one for the TC.

Awe, I see.

You know, you'd think they'd just come with one you know? Would make changing the filter much less messy.

There's a trick to dropping the pan without "dropping" the pan and making a mess, don't remove all the bolts at once! The philosophy behind not installing a factory drain plug (in addition to cost savings) is probably so that the pan has to get dropped, then you're going to change the filter too. A filter is something that would probably rarely get changed if you could do it the easy way with only a drain plug.

but some lazy (or perhaps creative) people with drain plugs install an in-line filter in the cooling line.

I'm not tossing out any names................ ;-)
