Default '95 Z28 Auto Swap for T-56

I just bought a 95 Z28 and the only thing that I don't like about it is that it's an automatic. It's not a huge deal to me, I just prefer a stick. If I were to make the swap, how hard would it be to both obtain a t-56 and install it? I know I would have replace the pedals and add a clutch and all that, but is there any fabrication involved, or is it just a lot of replacing parts? I've never really done any transmission work before but it seems like a good project.

you would need to change the computer, a few sensors, switches and wiring harnesses. it is not like the older models where you just change the trany and set up the clutch.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm not sure if the 4L60E and the T56 were the same length....so driveshaft would be an issue as well. There maybe some interlock switch that needs to be placed in lieu of the one that on the auto. I'm sure the receiving harness is the same though.

you need a trans, comp, wiring, everything for the clutch, flywheel, trans mount, cross member, iirc the driveshaft is the same length, also iirc you need to change to the 3.73 gears... am i missing anything

Thanks for the info guys. I was able to do some research and actually found a full parts list and step by step instructions if any of you are interested. Apparently the automatic and the manual are the same length so the drive shaft shouldn't be an issue. Here's the link:
4L60E to T56 conversion instructions for 1994-1997 LT-1

My 94 z28 had the T-56 swap successfully finished, and with that a stage 3 clutch and shaved flywheel. I want to do something different with my gearing, i cant seem to use 6th below 90mph without lugging at 1500rpms. lol.

Not to threadjack, but ive got a related side question.

Does the T-56 require any other bracing than the trans mount and two motor mounts? it seems my trans is jerking on takeoff, all mounts are good. Im thinking there might be a chance the po didnt finish the swap correctly, idk.
