Default 94 z28 Transmission problem

Hello everyone.

So I was driving my z28 at WOT and at the top of third gear the car tends to hold it to long and wont shift unless I let off. Well when I was driving it it held the top of third gear a few seconds and shifted to 4th hard and then nothing worked. No gears are working I dont even know if park works.

Possible problems I think I have with it are the transmission pump went out, but I disconnected the bottom transmission feed line and turned the car on and fluid was pumping out.

The only other thing I think can be wrong is the Torque converter right? I have no gears working and there is a whining noise.

check fluid level before starting and after starting, if level goes down pump is working. could have broke the main shaft. can you turn the drive shaft when in park, could try and put in park and try to push the car

I could not reach the driveshaft to try and turn it, but I could not push the car while it was in Park. So Im back to thinking torque converter.

It really could be a lot of things but just about all of them require a complete tear down. If it is the torque converter your not going to just put in a new torque converter because when it fails like this it sends metal all through the transmission. My guess would be that popped the seal in the 1st/3rd gear clutch pack. But it could also be the planary gear pack.

You dont really know for sure that none of the gears work because computer will not let them transmission go into gear until you reach the correct speed, The only thing you know for sure is that first and reverse don't work. I use to get that complaint all the time (no gears work) but the most common issue was the first gear pack was so worn that the piston poped out of place.

Where is the neutral safety switch on a 94 3.4l camaro. I have a problem with my car just having 1 single click and not starting.

Also what torque converter would you recommend for my 94 z28? Car is mostly stock only has headers and exhaust I believe. Looking for a torque converter that is better than stock that will bolt right in, but won't cost a whole lot.

I was maybe thinking about going with this torque converter. My car
Is mostly stock. No engine upgrades. Don't plan on doing any for a long time and the stall is not to high. Seems to fit right. B&M 70441 B&M Holeshot Converters
