[&:] id suspect either the throw out bearing or the input shaft bearing on the trans. if the noise is worse when you push the clutch in its most likely the throw out bearing, if the noise reduces or goes away when you push the clutch in then its most likely the input shaft bearing kurt

Or the fact that it is a Camaro could be your problem

Hey,
Please post if you find the issue with the transmission. I have a similiar problem. Its sounds sorta like a dry bearing or diesel truck. The noise happens during idle( clutch engaged ) and really low rmps mostly during first and second if driven correctly.
