Default 4L60E Needs replacement?

I'm having some problems with the trany on my 95 Z28. Whenever I give it a little throttle it just slips like it's in neutral. Driving around like a normal person it works and shifts fine. I was told it could be a speed sensor or a clogged filter, so I replaced both of those with no luck. I did notice that there was a lot of aluminum in the fluid though. I called a transmission guy and he told me they tend to go at around 110k miles, which is almost exactly how many mine has. Is there a rebuild kit out there with all the parts that I would need? Or do I have to replace it or take it in and have it done? I've done very little work with automatic transmissions and have no idea what's really wrong with it.

I would recommend getting it checked out at a trans shop, as any answer you get here will just be a "guess" at best. Your slippage could mean the clutches are shot, or it could mean the pump is bad (causing a low pressure condition). A fluid pressure check will help them determine what is bad. The pump is basically the "front cover" and you could easily change that yourself. However, if it's internal wear, rebuilding the trans takes knowledge to do it right, and some specialty tools.

Okay, thanks for the help. I was hoping to avoid having to pay extra for someone else to do it, but I guess it's what I'll have to do. I had a feeling that it was goint to be more than I could handle.
