Question SLP Bilsteins or Bilstein HDs - Which to Get?

SLP Bilsteins or Bilstein HDs - Which to Get? I understand there is some minor differences, and that the HDs have a lifetime warranty and SLP version only 1 year, but does anyone know more?

This what the Bilstein factory lists for your Camaro. HD seems to be the only type available, so I suspect the SLPs are just relabeled HDs.

Strano mentioned that the SLP Bilstein rear shocks have a better valving of just like 5% or something (more oomph) -- I'm not certain if he has actual details or that was his approximation...

I phoned SLP and they claimed that theirs are made to their engineer's specs and have a proportional rate built-in so that you won't get such a hard ride. Guess I'm still not convinced SLP's version is worth loosing the lifetime warranty for a measly 90 day SLP warranty.

Strano was revalving the Bilsteins.

Why not just follow the USEFUL information you got over on LS1tech with the same post you made here. Go with the HDs since the SLPs only carry a 1 year warranty. Or go with the SLPs because they will allegedly be more forgiving when you lower the car.

I don't see that advertised anywhere on his site...

I have no lowering plans.

It's still hard to find concrete comparisons on LS1Tech between the two -- still researching -- got to do my homework.

Update: Amazing, I have been misinformed, but SLP won't tell you this. Upon calling Bilstein today at 858-386-5900, spoke with Freddie, who works in warranty and he said the SLP Bilsteins are covered with a lifetime warranty also in addition to the HD's (original purchaser only). He said the only Bilsteins which are not lifetime are the 5125 shocks, which supposedly aren't offered for Camaro anyhow.

I have strano bilsteins, when I was still into corners, they were freaking amazing shocks, the car was so planted and sure footed. I was recommending them to everyone, but Sam stopped selling them. So I would go for some slp's and strano springs, call it a day. It'll handle like it's on rails, be nice to drive. There's a matter of tires though, a car won't utilize the suspension if you don't have the rubber for it. That's another thread though.
