rear shocks on 94 z-28
I just found a broken shock on my 94 z28 and was wondering how much of the interior I have to remove to get to the top mount?

I believe you will just have to remove the plastic covering in the rear side hatch area.

You have to take off the quarter panel interior plastic which involves about three screws plus the clothes hanger plastic hook, and peeling back the carpet with the back seat down to reveal the shock mount. MAKE SURE YOU SUPPORT THE AXLE WITH A JACK WHILE YOUR CAR IS ON JACK STANDS SO YOU DON'T RISK THE SPRING COMING OUT AND DAMAGING YOU AND YOUR CAR!!!
I just did this work on my '95... I would also get a MAPP Gas torch and a >= 500 ft. lb. torque air impact wrench to use with a >=3 HP air compressor for tough bolts below... |

since the topic is up does your car sound like you hit a pot hole when you go over normal bumps.. mine does maybe it is blown shocks

Yea my car does that to...my 95' firebird (virtually same car as camaro). If i turn onto a driveway or go over a small bump it sounds like i bottom out but only on the right rear

I only had to lift the carpet, nothing more!!

Mine did, but stopped when I changed all four shocks/struts.
