Default Rear end shift with lowered springs?

I keep seeing comments about needing to install an adjustable panhard if you get a lowering kit. Can anyone tell me why the rear end shifts when lowered?

the panhard bar keeps the rearend from moving side to side. the bar runs from one side to the other and is set to be centered at stock hight. as the car body moves up it moves from side to side. if you lower or raise body it will set one way or the other.

Thanks for the info.
Maybe you could answer these questions also:
If I'm getting a 1.25" lowering kit do I need to get control arm relocation brackets? What size bump stops should I put on the rear?
Thanks

depends on the tires. if wide yes, i have 315s on the 93 and had to roll the fenderwells, also adjustable panhard. without i would have one side rub when hitting dips, worse if i had weight in the back. stock bumpstops should be ok. can always go back and change if needed.

Thanks for your time and advice. I went ahead and ordered an adjustable bar just to be safe.
