Default Lowering Springs

I looked on a search and I'm sure it's there, but I'm afraid I'll have to ask. I tried lowering my car with a 1.5" drop and the damn thing bottomed out with every tiny bump in the road. I loved the look and handling, however. So here are my questions:

What lowering springs would you recommend, if any?

Is there any way to add lowering springs and NOT have the car bottom out (ie, spacers/bump stops)? If so, what size would be best?

OR...would you just look for stock replacement springs?

How did you lower your car? Did you cut the stock springs?

I have BMR lowering springs and they have worked out great and improve the handling.

I used lowering springs but can't remember the brand. I just know the car bottomed out everywhere I went. KYB shocks.

I'll look into those springs, craby. They are next, along with a strut tower brace.

i lowered my 96 rs 2 inches all the way around and i had the same problem bottomed out every little bump so i ended up putting bilistein hevy duty shocks on it also just in case i put bump stops on it also made by energy suspension and i dont have any problem with bottoming out anymore

Thanks for the tip. I actually just did my brakes all the way around (slotted & cross drilled rotors), so I will be looking into this shortly. I gotta do everything a little bit at a time. Keeps the Mrs. happy that way.
