I'm looking for better control arms and suspension upgrades for my 2000 Z28, any tips?

The front control arms are fine, what you probably need is stiffer bushing, new ball joints, tie rod ends, & shocks. If you are making a lot of power, you may want to consider stronger LCAs at the rear end, and an adjustable Panhard rod if you alter ride height. Front strut tower braces, and welded subframe connectors will help to prevent body flex and give more consistent handling.

i put 32mm front sway bar, agx kyb 8-way adj. struts, stut bar, and eibach springs. didnt touch the rear shocks or sawy bar or panhard rod but IT HANDLES AMAZING!!! Definetely make start with a poly bushing set, ull be surprised on the difference.

I would start with the subframe connectors and then the bushing set, you will be amazed at how much your car stiffens up in the twisties without really doing any other upgrades. after these improvements, you will get so much more benefit out of the bigger money upgrades

a lot of people just do springs and don't realize that they are kind of only masking the car's problems. also a lot of manufacturers with have struts available that will match their springs nicely. you have ot be careful with swaybars because you can overmatch them for the rest of the car's suspension and you won't be balanced out right (lots of under or oversteer). that becomes a real problem when you get hot and heavy in the corners

So if I go get the subframe connectors like lets say SLP Subframe kit, is it not a good idea to get the sway bars or is there just a better type of sway bar to look for?

swaybars are always a good idea but after the subframe connectors, a bushing kit is probably your best next step before swaybars or springs and struts. that way any other upgrades you do, youwill get their most possible benefit out of them because they will be put ona solid and tight platform

kind of like building a house. you could put it on an irregular stone foundation down like they did in the 1600s and watch the house twist and the walls crack because the stone isn't really a solid starting point or........you could put downforms and pour concrete so the house will be solid as it possibly can be, just in case you want to build it up later and not worry about the lack of structural support from the added load
