Default A arm bushings

You are correct, I dont have a press to install them.. I got the car from a buddy that owns a small car lot, He got it for me at a auto auction, Basically what i am going to do is take the upper and lower arms off and use their shop to have them installed. going to charge me 50 for labor, But i have to buy bushings, What detoured me in the beginning was most everything i read about these 4th gen fbodies in camaro forums most were saying use atermarket tubular arms, I am going to take the chance and just have the bushings replaced being its just a daily driver. Going with Moog bushings.

Like stated the tubular control arms are great if you plan on doing a lot of auto cross or want to drop some weight for drag. DD it's just overkill. Not saying you can't use them for that, but the stock stamped one's do a pretty good job for what they are. So about ~$120 to have them done, not bad. Let use know how it turns out. Maybe you can convince me that it's just easier to go tubular. Which will suck since I already bought my new bushings months ago...

As MK said, the OP should just do what works for him. However, this company out of San Louis Obispo, CA, seems to have fair prices for his needs. Moreover, he can also get a nice, replacement panhard bar as well. $109 for the non-ajustable variety and for about $100 more, you can get the on-car adjustable type. Might be overkill, but it also seems fairly reasonable in price. I will likely look to place these on my car in the near future...just waiting to see who wins a bidding war on ebay for some other car items.

I have to say that I cannot attest to the quality of Founders' products, but I do know I've seen other members on THIS forum state that they've purchased them and have been very happy. I don't have the time or desire to look for or link to those posts, however.

Anyway...

82-02 Camaro Firebird Lower Control Arms & Panhard Bar - Founders Performance LLC

Founders Performance On Car Adjustable Lower Control Arms & Panhard Rod Kit 1982-2002 Camaro or Firebird Adjustable Lower Control Arms Replace those weak, factory stamped lower control arms with Founders Performance extreme duty tubular on car ad

Like MK said, it might be overkill...kind of like putting 6 piston Brembos, 20" Foose wheels, or their accompanying Z-rated 30 series tires on an LS1 Camaro. Likely, the brake kit, the wheels, or the tires would be worth as much as the car, if not more! However, at the price of those control arm kits, however, I'll take the overkill.

Best of luck to whatever the OP does and as always, let us know how it works out for you.

I actually know someone who did this...front 6 piston calipers and 4's in the rear but it was on a LT1. We went for a ride once and brake checked me going 55...last time I ever rode in that car.

You mean you didn't like your lungs punching the dashboard?

We are talking rear control arms now right? Not front?

If that's the case, Founders, Strano, UMI, and BMR are the one's you want to look at. Compare price as well as thickness and steel type, then make a decision. Honestly, you really can't really go wrong here.

I just picked up an energy suspension front end kit off amazon for less than 65 bucks.
