Default '02 35th Anniversary Rear Sway Bar

Recently purchased car and found out the rear sway bar is installed UPSIDE DOWN! Rubbing the center of the differential cover and the end link bushings are junk. Axle tube bushings are wrong size. Has anyone ever heard of the bar being installed this way, for any reason? I've looked at undercarriage photos of my '96 SS and '02 Firehawk that I've owned previously and both bars went down, below and about 1" or so behind the differential housing.

Only reason I can think of is someone didn't know what they were doing.
I have bigger bars front and rear on my '01 from Strano with Strano lowering springs and Koni shocks, also adjustable panhard and LCAs etc.etc.
Mine goes under the diff as you describe.

My thoughts exactly! And the photo is just how I thought they should all be. Mine's not as clean as that yet, but it will be! Going to leave it stock, with the exception of the Borla exhaust, which was on it when I bought it.

Great photo.
