Default Project "Wamaro" Build Thread

I figured i might as well start one of these, its gonna take a while but things will come together. Im about 2 weeks into the project. Here are some pictures. Car has about 190,000 miles on it. Have a complete build list with part numbers that will be posted as i go.

Got the heads off and cleaned them up, they will be going to Lloyd Elliot , he will be doing the following.

looks like my old block. it had the black gunk on in the valley too. looks like fun.

Finally got enough classroom time in to start in the machining lab at school, will post some pictures up after class tonight of progress on the block. I got these today from Summit

Well not a good night guys, after talking to my professor he said to send the milodon Studs back and call ARP to get the windage tray bolts. ( They where not inlcuded in the 4 bolt splayed main stud kit) There was a difference in tensile strength and 65vs 80 ft lbs torque! Then come to find out they are redoing the ventilation system and they turned off the gas to out hot washers and baking oven.

So i plan on getting the block all cleaned up next week and prep for machining.

that first picture seems extremely familiar...oh wait...I have the same car. Hahaha, I can't wait till I get to embark on this journey myself.

My plan for tonight in the machine shop is to get the block baked, into the pressure washer, magnafluxed, and possibly cut the splayed caps in.

Baked the block at 700 degees for 45 minutes

The block comes out with ash all over it. All grease and oil is gone.

It will go into the pressure washer tomorrow and get magnufluxed for cracks.
