New engine ideas FOR 95 camaro
#2
Save up, sell your current car, then buy a new one with the better V6 or desired V8. Cheapest, easiest, and best way to do so. A engine swap requires a complete donor car to get engine, wiring, trans, and other necessities from.

Engine swaps in these cars, especially the V8's are almost impossible. Not entirely though if you have the money, means and time/space. As stated, you will need an almost complete donor car to do it. Not only the engine needs to be replaced, but the V6 trans will not hold up to V8 power, so you need a trans swap too and almost certainly a rear end. Then the computer and wiring harness(s).

The cheapest way to get a V8 4th gen is to buy a V8 car that needs work. Besides all the work involved in the swap a working drive line cost almost as much as the car. Ya, I know that is as clear as mudd.
There are people building all kinds of projects, Wrecked LT1 with 100K could be worth $1500 because there is a market for running engines/trans. But a 95 with a blown head gasket with a really good body may only sell for $950. Most project guys want to start with a good running motor and they will not consider a motor that needs work. So for less then what the doner car would cost plus some work you can have your V8 car, and STILL have your V6.
The only time this swap makes sense money wise is when you already have a a V8 car and you know the drive line is in very good shape and you want to use just the body of a V6 car. This can be cheaper then trying to fix a mangled body.

If it will hold up or not does not matter much because it will not bolt to the V8. In the V6 sub folder there is a sticky thread about the V6 to V8 swap. It starts as a joke but if you read through it there is a lot of good info.
