Had the 93 for a while. Was going to do the whole LT4 conversion when it hit the magazine racks. Had all the parts and was fixing to start. Then my truck died. Decided to hold off and ended up selling all the parts due to life (me and Mr. Murphy are going to have a long talk one of these days) getting in the way.

Now we are in the new house, fixing to get another truck for my daily driver and going to play with the Z a little bit. Will post photos, questions and so on here.

She was all black ,now sporting a set of painted stripes. Put in a K&N cold air kit, MSD ignition box and a Hotchkis strut tower brace.. Fixing to do new MSD wires (going to be a pain I know), new plugs, MSD coil . Also looking for a set of headers for her that will allow me to retain all smog crap. Just because. Will also be doing the normal Panhard bar, lower control arm thing.

Got bored and decided to put in a head unit and speakers I had lying around this weekend. Got to redo the wire as I am not completely satisfied with them. Crutchfield helped out with a wiring harness and head unit adaptor to fill the factory hole a bit. Still retains the factory Bose speakers along with 2 JL speakers in the sail panels and one amp for them and a 12 inch sub in the back with one amp for it. Sounds really good..

Is there a header that will allow me to retain all of my smog stuff on the 93?

 

no, you will need to change the air pump pipes and hoses to a 94-97 style. I'm sure a guy could patch something to fit, not sure how it would work. can use a single catalytic converter. i switched to a duel cat system which i found out later may not be legal.

Not really. It wouldn't be profitable for someone to make a one year only header for a 20 year old car. Car looks great btw!

Thank you craby. I have been glancing at it already and noticed yours. Will have to check into those for sure. I just find it odd no one did a 93 specific. I understand what you are saying but I do know that a lot of today's cars , they make one year specific parts. Guess that's the pleasure of having the odd ball one...LOL Thanks for the info and link.

 

kooks are spendy pacesetter makes a good set http://store.newlevelmotorsports.com...e19chca14.html again they dont make one that matches the pollution control hookups in the right place.

Sorry, I used Pacesetter long tubes and if you came a little further south, we don't need none of that thar smog stuff in FL and we don't say fixin to do something, dat dere is a Carolina thing.

One HUGE benefit to getting rid of the stock exhaust manifolds is access to the spark plugs. I don't know how those shorties would be but definitely see if there's a way to find out. Oh, Percy's seal-4-good header gaskets are the best I've used. I've never had a leak and they can be re-used if you need to pull off the headers.
