You would Really have to hate the near 300HP 28MPG Lt1 for it to be worth it. The T56 conversion alone is going to require a speical Flywheel and Clutch assemble. Last time I looked the setup cost close to $800. Now add in the fact you going to have to rewire the whole car and make most of the brackets. You could easily build a 400 HP Lt1 for what all this crap is going to cost you to convert to your SBC.

The flywheel assembley is the same as any one piece seal motors. The crank in the Lt1 and the vortec motors are the same with 526 being the last three numbers. I would use a vortec truck motor with the vortec heads and a Comp. roller cam of your choice just so its under 500 lift with a little work to the springs and your easly into the 400+ range. The only thing that will not fit into a vortec 880 block is the heads and the lt1 block. Crank rods pistons (love those lt1 flat top mahla pistons) cam lifter dog bones and spiders. Put a carb and a HEI with a vortec intake and a electric fuel pump and your set. OR just stroke the motor to 377 with a standard bore kit save the money used to bore the motor and get a new roller cam.
