Chaotic's Z28 Progress Thread
Alright everyone! Sorry I haven't had a chance to update since I picked up my new ride! Its been a fun journey these last few months and I've made some good progress with the car so far. Just to give everyone a recap, here's a video to give you an idea of what my last car was and the new addition to the family!
Okay so I officially purchased the z28 on January 3rd, 2017. Drove 4 hours one way to get it and trailed her home. The purchase cost: $2500. She has 128xxx miles, according to the title. The cluster read 45xxx miles.

First things first, my buddy Jason and I gave her a tune up. New plugs, Mobile 1 full synthetic, K&N oil filter, new fuel filter, and fresh 92 octane fuel. No pics but after all that, she drove like a top!!
Had to have a windshield installed because it had a couple large cracks from the previous owner.

First bath!!

Man she cleans up nice!

I took all the lights and stereo system from the v6 car and installed it all in the z28!

The clutch was chattering really bad and ended up not disengaging one day. So my buddy Jason and I jacked her up and ripped it apart. Broken disk. Go figure lol

Time for ball joints...

A little before and after

Track day! My car and my buddy Cody's 1996 LT1 Automatic.

My best pass of the day! Not too bad for a bone stock LT1 Camaro, eh?

Went home from the track on a mission. Installed a short throw shifter the next day!

I also installed a LS1 Aluminum Driveshaft. No pics, but its there.

Took the K&N CAI from the v6 and got it ready to be installed with a new filter!
Out with the old!

Would ya lookie here...

Got that cleaned up and clear through the screen. And the K&N kit is going in!!

The car seems to run really good so far! Hoping to make more improvements soon! I will be sure to update as I make more improvements and add more mods

Well that didn't last long. Took me 3 months to blow that clutch to pieces. Luckily, the company that built it stood behind it 100% and sent me a free full ceramic 6 puck in place of the dual friction. My buddy has the exact same 6 puck in his 450hp LS1 and its held up great for over a year! So I should be good now!

Cleaned up the transmission while I was waiting for the new clutch in the mail.

And finally!! The clutch came in today!

Well I already put the clutch in. It had to come back out because the disk they sent me won't work with the pressure plate. The 6puck disk is thicker than the dual friction, so they have to put thinner friction pads on the disk. I sent it back yesterday. Should have it back next week some time.
