well if I don't get this LT4 hot cam then I'm gonna hold off a while longer before upgrading. I just thought it was potentially a good deal to ****** up before somebody else did. I'm not looking for anything real intense. I've been told the LT4 is great for somebody who wants a bit more power but still want to dd their car in the summer. Which is pretty much exactly what I want.

The one that I posted will pass emissions, provide good drivability and is significantly more aggressive than the LT4 Hot Cam. Read the specs.

I don't need a cam that's "that hot," I just want one that will get me where I want to go (300+ rwhp) with good drivability and is within my budget. I think the LT4 will grant me that. I just don't know if I should get a cam now when I don't plan on installing it for a while yet...

well I decided against getting the cam for now, that mod's just too far off at this point. I'm not gonna buy it and let it sit around gathering dust for a couple of years before I do anything with it.

So, random question: it won't bother anything if I remove my hoodliner, will it? I guess I'm mostly just worried about the hood getting too hot after driving for a while.

I wouldn't do it. Your hood might get crows feet in the paint.

Just an FYI. I have been doing some research on CAM and the LT4 hot cam is concidered a Newbee CAM for guys that did not do any research. It is old technoligy. There are cams out there that will give better Daily driving and more HP and along with better mileage.

Well I've been hearing a lot of guys who haven't had them for years now, so it sounds like that shouldn't be an issue. And one of these guys details high-end exotics for a living, so I trust that if there was any risk of paint damage, he would have one on his car.

Well, I never said I wasn't a newbee when it comes to cams . It just seemed like a really good deal $$ wise, but like I said before, I decided against it because a cam install is too far off for me right now.

So...if I remove the hoodliner, I was thinking I could take off the hood louvers and actually make them into functional scoops. I have extras sitting around from my old wrecked car, so I'll try it with those and see what happens.
