So I just recently tried to fix the power window motor on the passenger door of my 1994 Camaro, and wow. I got my a$$ handed to me...

This is made all the worse by the fact that I am a Tool Tech at Home Depot and I tear apart and rebuild small engines and fix electrical problems almost on a daily basis so I am pretty mechanically inclined with such things, so it was a moral blow as well.

After searching the forums I came up with nothing that represents my problem.

One of the first things I noticed is that my window triggers are on the center console as opposed to the doors; although in all honesty I am not sure this is part of the problem, I am just making an observation. Another thing worth mentioning is that the old motor looks like it was about the most Micky Mouse operation I'd ever seen and the motor was actually held in place with duct tape.

I checked the driver's side door and found it be much the same situation.

Does anyone have any pointers for me or could at least point me in the direction of how the motors are supposed be installed?

sounds like somebody put a different center consol in the car. so u have switches on the door? id sure like to see some pictures.

 

I don't have any switches on the door. I'll post up some pics tommorow and show you what I mean.
