Default Window help needed

95 z-28. After having more window motors than I can recall replaced on my purchased-new z-28 (not to mention those on three previous f-bodies), I thought yesterday was just the day to replace one myself, with the assistance of my soon-to-be-driving daughter. We were doing fine until spring popped out, which set off a chain of events leading to eventual dislodging of internal door components which led me to exploded view of door internals (and further assistance of wife, who has never loved an f-body, but whose small hands helped removing old motor). Before creating any further complications, door-related, marital, or financial, I thought a shout out for help in RTP area of NC would teach my daughter the value of asking for help.

Thanks for that. One problem I am having with all of the materials I have viewed and read is the issue of exactly what the motor connects to. Yes, yes, I see the drill holes I made, I see the holes in the motor where the bolts go, perhaps showing my ignorance, what I never see is what surface within the door the motor attaches to, and, in a related issue, the relationship between motor and starting position of the gear on regulating mechanism.

It mounts to the regulator frame, so that it meshes with the sector gear. This photo may help a bit.
