tan to black
ok so i got my first camaro 2 days ago. its a black 99 SS 6 speed. its everyhting i want except it has the tan interior. whats the cheapest way to change it to black. is it cheaper to get racing seats or seat covers or does dying work? (theyre leather seats). with the door panels is dying also good or should i have it professionally changed or is it cheaper to get oem ones. same with carpet and headliner and can all the plastic trim be replaced. is it cheaper to get new seatbelts or harnesses. whats the approximate cost of all these parts. i would be doing this myself. thanks.
There is a spray you can get to paint the plastic trim pieces. Headliner and carpet is cheap and easy, and with seats I would go with aftermarket and get a three point seatbelt to match. Personally I think that tan interior with black exterior looks very nice, especially on the late fourth gens. As for making everything black you might want to tint the hell out of your windows because it will be even more of a hot box with black inteiror.
ive been looking into this myself for my 89 RS. Red interior... SICK! anyway, autozone and most other car parts places have paints for it. I think Dupont makes it but i woudnt swear to it. Its a sray thats good for everything inside and it slams to leave the carpet and headliner soft somehow? But as for price... i dont remember, 7 or 8 bucks a can i think?
