I just bought a 97 conv z28 and the dash top is cracked in several places. The previous owner said this was a common problem with this year Camaro but might be bs...I used to have a 95 conv and never had this problem. Is it a common problem and would I be better off replacing completely or doing a cover job? Thanks for the help..

 

I have the same problem with my 96. I bought a new one on gmpartsdirect.com today. They call it a crash pad. $238.70 with shipping was cheaper than the Chevy garage list at $333

 

When I bought my 86 the dash was a mess, I found a dash cover on EBay for about $150 it fits like a tight glove and looks good. You might give EBay a look to find a vendor, it's been over a year since I did mine and I've forgotten who I bought mine from.
