My 96 Z has a button that says asm ?what is it?any help is good wondering if it is like traction control?

 

are you sure its not asr acceleration slip regulation

 

It's under the colum to the right side.near the radio

 

He is asking if you are sure the label is not spelled "ASR", an acronym for Anti Slip Regulation. That would be directly below the cigar lighter.

It was Asr wow I was wondering because the other day my car did some weird stuff and it wouldn't let me floor it.

 

My '02 SS doesn't have ASR.....hmm,
I can wear out the rear tires at my leisure...

 

I made it a habit of always turning mine off as soon as I started the engine. I forgot once and almost got rear-ended when I pulled out in traffic, nailed the gas, and the ASR pushed the gas pedal back up against my foot. They make a module that reverses the action (off at start), and you only push the switch if you want to activate ASR.

 

Not a fan of Asr
