'96 Z28 Speakers w/ BOSE System
Hey guys ive done some reading on here for a bit now and i just wanted to make sure i got this right. So my 96 camaro has the bose sound system and my drivers side speaker isnt working. i wanted to replace but from what im reading i have to replace the head unit and all the speakers as well as the wiring for the speakers because the bose system isnt compatible with other speakers? If so does anyone have experience doing this and any tips? I always put systems in my car and im good with wiring and running new wires. Just could use some tips! Thanks!

im using two amps and a wofer with the 4 speakers. i used crutchfield and it worked pretty good. went through 3 different amp systems before i got what i liked. they will take them back so long as you are working with them and dont damage the units. used the woofer box that goes in the cubby on the diver side so didnt lose space. ran new wires for everything with this camaro. last one already had a good amp and woofer and wiring was good to the front so just replaced speakers and new head unit.

i got a 95 Z28, replaced the stock delco/bose head unit w/aftermarket head unit by using Metra harness adapter ( it's color coded and you just crimp/butt connector together) with stock speakers they work good. If/when a speaker goes out, I will replace all speakers w/aftermarket ( i prefer to "hear the engine roar" as Rob Halford says. If you're looking for speakers or head unit from a 96 Z28 I have a whole system from from a 96 camaro delco/bose head unit w/CD and all stock speakers. I have listed for $20 bucks on Portland oregon Clist...otherwise just go all aftermarket, best wishes
