Wonder how a white face gauge would look with LEDs in the back... Hmmm....

Oh and I got some done, but I had to make these, I didnt just buy replacement bulbs. I dont think I'll try that behind the dash though lol. Theyre so bright and look AWESOME and all the parts cost less than $18.

Looks good! Yes 161 and 73 are different. 73 are tiny, 161 is small, but still bigger than 161.

73

161

This site shows how to do the headlight switch, foglight switch, and such.

This is somewhat related to this thread, I took the dome light off in my s10 and spray painted it red to match the interior and its pretty slick-lookin... /thread-hijack

I'm not sure what is different about the 161 and 194, but they look exactly the same to me. Some in my gauges were 161 and some were 194, but I replaced them all with 194 LEDs. 37 and 73 are the same way. I put a Z gauge cluster in my car, and I can't say I remember needing the 37 or 73 bulb. Though I would have one extra just in case.
so you put a Z cluster in a 6? what'd you use to calibrate it?
and.. what made the back of the guages blue? btw, thanks for the links on the headlight switch and everything.. i've done that, but never the foglight switch. oh, and what size bulb is in the map lights? (sorry if i missed it in the thread, im not myself today)

I'm gonna try to make a full list of all bulb sizes and what they go to in a little while.. im just having a bit of trouble right now.. i wanna sort everything out before i order anything. I think im gonna go with the pure white too.

then again, those UV's are a little tempting for the guages.. just because im so curious. who knows, i just need to get the bulb sizes down for now..

Everything on the Z cluster works fine, except the tach oil gauge. The tach reads 75% of what it should. The oil gauge needle still points the same as it did on the 6 cluster. On the Z cluster the middle is 40 psi, the 6 is 60. I know this, so it's not a problem. I have an auto, so the tach doesn't bother me either. Everything else reads out fine, even the speedo. Bulbs for the map lights are these kind...

212-2 is what they're called, but those are the only 212-2 type they have that looked like they'd fit in there.

one thing im unsure about.. and sorry for the whoring.. but, for the sgs/fogs and headlight switch, do i just need an LED with the right resistor? and if so, what kinda resistor? so far i've got everything down but the map lights/cabin light, and that. Thanks a lot..

edit: nm, got the map lights now, thanks.. just to be completely sure, there's 4 right?
