Default Z28 or SS?

im looking at cars around 15g and a camaro is one im considering. i plan on leaving it stock for a while (until i have a job where i can afford to mod/fix it after modding it). i notice the z28s are much cheaper than the ss and im wondering the difference between the two. is it just the hp rating or is there more to it? also how reliable is a 4th gen camaro all stock? lastly, do the z28s and ss models come with an ls1? thank you.

The 98-02 Camaro SS and Z28 have the LS1 engine. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the SS just has an appearance package. As for how reliable the Camaro with an LS1 is depends on how the previous owner took care of it, but overall its a great combo.

Guys, how many times do we have to go over this!?

Technically the SS can be just an appearance package, but they did offer special suspension packages, wheel packages etc. that were not offered through the Chevy dealership.

I have a 1998 z28, the SS was a lot more money, had the same chassis as mine, same motor, and in my opinion was a lot for a hood, shifter and a rear spoiler, and different rims.
